If I want to transfer data from an old computer to new one, can you transfer all programs as well?
When we transfer information from an old to new computer we can transfer all your personal data such as documents, pictures, music, emails and settings for your email accounts. If you want to use same programs on new computer you will have to have the installation discs and more importantly the license key for programs such as Office as this is proof that you have the right to use this software. Unfortunately we can't just copy programs the same way as the documents as they will not work, each program uses many files which are spread across whole system and only the software developer from manufacturer of the software will know where this files are located, additionally there are many entries created in a special Index file called a registry which Windows uses to locate all programs and files.

Is wireless safe, if I decide to use it in my home or office what should I be aware of?

Generally speaking wireless is great technology, it allow us to use our laptops from comfort of the sofa or just move around house and be able to check emails or log on to our favourite websites.
The advantages are clear but there are problems with this technology, firstly, stability. Very often you can find out that the wireless signal is not strong enough and you are not able to use internet. This is due to many factors which are beyond anyone’s ability to overcome on permanent basis. If in your home the walls are thick and there is many electrical devices such as microwave, the signal will be weak and you will experience problems with connection. Additionally if many of your neighbours come to the same conclusion and use wireless in their homes this may go in conflict with your signal. As a result your perfectly working wireless connection may in matters of days become useless.
This is not the biggest problem, all the above give you a headache but nothing serious. The biggest problem with all wireless connections is security. If your wireless connection is not encrypted, or if use old encryption called WEP you can have serious issues. All the information which you see on your screen can be seen by someone else. Additionally someone could start using your broadband connection. They may steal your bank details or attack other computers on the internet using your connection or just download illegal material. This in the worst case scenario could result in you being arrested and your computer confiscated for forensic testing. If you are running a business, not having your computer for many weeks will be disastrous.
Our recommendation is to ensure that you use the latest version of encryption. If you decide to use wireless use what is called WPA or WPA2.
